The JSK missed a great opportunity to bring back the three points from its trip to Béchar, by settling for a one-goal draw against the JSS, as part of the 11e day of Ligue 1 Mobilis.
The team quickly took the lead thanks to a goal from Walter Bwalya in the second minute of play. Served in depth by Mohamed-Réda Hamidi, the Congolese striker deceived the opposing goalkeeper. This early goal foreshadowed a controlled match for the Canaries, but the locals did not give up. After several unsuccessful attempts, they obtained a penalty in the 28th minute of play. Following a combined corner between two JSS players and an aerial duel between Madani and Belhachemi in the penalty area, referee Gamouh considered that the JSK defender had committed a foul on his opponent and pointed to the penalty spot. Akacem took charge of applying the sentence, putting the two teams back on an equal footing. The JSS continued to dominate the rest of this first half against the JSK which was evolving on the other hand. Babacar Sarr’s comrades gave up the game in midfield and tried to proceed with counter-attacks, but without managing to find the net. In the last minute of added time of the first half, Boualia found Bwalya in the penalty area, but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. And it was with this one-goal draw that the man in black whistled the end of the first part of the match.
Best face in the second half
In the second half, JSK took control of the game and created numerous scoring opportunities. Boualia, Bwalya, Sarr and Benzaïd all had their chance, but came up against the opposing defense or goalkeeper Djoudar. Boudebouz’s comrades imposed their game and won the middle battle. They showed a much better face than that of the first half, but the offensive efficiency was lacking. In the last seconds of the match, Madani thought he would give his team victory by heading a free kick from Hamidi, but the referee canceled the goal for a supposed foul on an opposing defender, provoking the anger of the players, leaders and supporters of the JSK.
This draw is a disappointment for JSK who had the opportunity to get closer to the top places. The Canaries dominated the match in the second half, but were unable to realize their domination. Controversial refereeing decisions have not helped matters. The JSK delivered an encouraging performance in Béchar, without managing to obtain the three points. Madani’s teammates will have to quickly recover from this disappointment and focus on the next matches, starting with the one against NCM, scheduled for December 8 at the Hocine-Aït-Ahmed stadium.
