Recruited for 25 million euros by PSG in 2016, Jesé (31 years old) will remain as one of the big flops of the Qatari era in Paris. In an interview with a Youtuber, the attacker explains the reasons for this failure and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's great disenchantment with him.
Since the beginning of October, Jesé (31) has resumed his confusing football career in Malaysia under the colors of Johor Darul Ta'zim. His tenth club and his third continent visited with Europe, South America and Asia. A destination far from his very promising beginnings with Real Madrid, his training club, then his transfer to PSG for 25 million euros in 2016. But in France, things quickly turned sour for the player, pushed towards the exit the following winter with a loan from La Palmas.
“I don’t know if he loved my wife more than me.”
In an interview given to the Spanish freestyler Mowlihawk on his Youtube channel, Jesé returned to his failure in the French capital by settling scores with Nasser Al-Khelaïfin, Parisian president.
“If I had wanted, I would have stayed in Madrid, but the PSG option appeared,” explains in comments reported by As. “As I didn't have many minutes, I thought about going to Paris because that I was going to play and have minutes. Above all, there was Emery as coach, he was the one who called me, Madrid did a lot of recruitment and I wanted to go to the Euro (2016, but. he had not been retained, Editor's note) with the national team, because I was about to go to the World Cup in Brazil (in 2014), but I got injured.”
“Plus, they (PSG) improved my contract and paid a lot more,” he adds. “Compared to Madrid, where we were paid every six months, they paid very well. I earned a little less than five million euros gross. At PSG, I started by giving the decisive pass in the first match (in Bastia, 0-1, his blocked shot had benefited Leyvin Kurzawa), but then I was sidelined for two months because of appendicitis and the following winter, I was told that I had to leave. I told Emery I felt cheated.”
The Spaniard targets a man: Nasser Al Khelaïfi. “The president didn’t even want to see me in painting,” he says. “I don't know if he loved my wife more than me. They didn't give me any explanation. They treated me very badly. There I realized that Madrid is the best in the world in everything. I “I felt like I was dealing with a billionaire guy who uses players like they're badges.”
During his contract with Paris, Jesé had a series of loan spells at Las Palmas, Stoke City, Real Betis and Sporting Portugal. He finally left the club in December 2020 after his contract was terminated. In total, he wore the PSG jersey 18 times in his career.
