Mikel Arteta speaks out on Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal

Thomas Partey’s contract with Arsenal is gradually coming to an end. The Ghanaian player is in very good shape this season and highly appreciated by his coach Mikel Arteta. The latter recently spoke out on the future of the 31-year-old midfielder.

Thomas Partey is reborn from his ashes this season. The 2023-2024 campaign was one of the least rosy of the Ghanaian’s career during which he played only 15 matches in all competitions, including 9 starts. But this bad patch is now just a bad memory. This season, Partey has regained his place in the Arsenal environment and is currently one of the key elements and indisputable starters in the Gunners group. He has 12 matches in the Premier League, including 11 as a starter, with 2 goals scored.

However, the questions and uncertainty surrounding Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal persist and are far from stopping since nothing has yet been decided. The 31-year-old’s contract runs until June 2025. He could leave the English club after 5 seasons. But, there is also a chance that his lease will be extended.

In a recent interview, the Gunners technician spoke on this subject. “We will have time to discuss his future at Arsenal. Thomas Partey is showing consistency at the highest level, again because his availability and his physical condition allows him to do so, and I am very happy about that,” said Mikel Arteta.
