Fifa ranking: Senegal wins, Morocco loses – Lequotidien

Senegal progresses in the FIFA world rankings for the month of November and goes from 20th to 17th place. First African team, Morocco loses a place at world level.

FIFA published its world ranking of football nations this Thursday, based on the results of the November international break. Senegal progresses and reaches 17th place in the world after its victories against Burkina Faso and Burundi, thus securing the head of its group for the CAN 2025 qualifiers.

First African Nation, Morocco, despite exceptional performances during the Can 2025 qualifiers with crushing victories against Gabon (5-1) and Lesotho (7-0), lost a place and found itself 14th in the world rankings. Walid Regragui’s team, however, retains first place on the African continent, ahead of Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria and Algeria. The African Top 10 is completed by Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Among other highlights, Niger experienced one of the greatest progressions in the ranking. The Comoros, for their part, recorded an impressive gain of +31.23 points. Conversely, the Democratic Republic of Congo suffered a significant loss of -35,538 points.

Now fifth in the ranking, Nigeria has fallen eight places after a good climb. This benefits Algeria, one of the few to maintain its position at the global level, and which steals fourth place in Africa.

Ivory Coast and Tunisia still in free fall
Ivory Coast continues its remarkable decline, proof that the improvement following the miracle of the CAN is well over. After dropping seven places last month, the Elephants lost six places this time. Same situation on the Tunisian side. If they mitigate their dizzying fall of 11 places in October, the Carthage Eagles still dropped five. Hence the regression from 7th to 9th African rank.

Cameroon, which is stagnating, and Mali (+3) take advantage of this to take 7th and 8th places respectively.

At the global level, Argentina maintains first place, followed by and Spain. These teams maintain their status as leaders on the international scene.

Furthermore, the next Fifa ranking will be published on December 12, 2024.
