The Engie Open de l’Isère (women’s tournament classified W75) and the Trophée de la Ville de Grenoble (men’s tournament, M15) will not take place in 2025. Grenoble Tennis, the organizing club of these two ITF indoor tournaments since many seasons, made the decision. It was recorded this Thursday during a general meeting of the club.
This decision was taken “for financial reasons” indicates the Grenoble club and “the gradual withdrawal of certain partners” from the two events. The organization of which requires a total budget of €300,000.
The forecasts established at the start of the September school year by Grenoble Tennis revealed insurmountable difficulties in putting together this budget.
The Engie Open de l’Isère has been taking place for fourteen years, for tenniswomen, and the Trophée de la Ville de Grenoble joined it, in 2019, for boys.

However, this decision does not mark the death of the two Grenoble ITF tournaments. Grenoble Tennis has in fact obtained, from the international (ITF) and French (FFT) federations, the freezing of its dates. That is to say, no other French city will take up this free slot in the calendar (February 3 to 9).
If it manages to raise the necessary budget again, it will be able to organize these two professional tournaments again, in February 2026.
Also, the Belarusian Aliona Faei (W75) and the French Clément Chidekh (M15), winners in 2024, will perhaps not be the last on the list.
