Published on 11/29/2024

Freely accessible, this new sports equipment, a legacy of the 2024 Olympic Games, will offer a beautiful leisure and meeting space for residents.

Livry-Gargan recently received the highest level of the “Ville Active et Sportive” label (to see this news, click here). A distinction which rewards the City’s efforts to promote access to quality equipment and create dedicated spaces in the different districts of the city.
The municipality has chosen the square du Docteur Herpin, located near the Notre-Dame de Livry Church, to install a brand new city stadium. This equipment is the second of the same type, after that installed in 2018 at Vincent-Auriol park. A true place for sporting life, it will offer an open space dedicated to practice for all, with free access.

The work began at the end of November, with the first step being the creation of a 273 m2 platform. Next will come the installation of wooden cladding, which will fit ideally into this green environment, and synthetic turf, combining aesthetics and playing comfort. This new leisure area will measure 18 meters in length and 10 meters in width. . The playing surface will allow the installation of goals and two basketball hoops, enough to give a smile to the young athletes in the neighborhood.
Barring any climatic hazards, the city stadium will open its doors by the end of the year.

The cost of the project amounts to €92,140. Several financial partners contributed to its completion, the Île-de- Region and the Greater Paris Metropolis, up to 50% of the project.
