Forced to come off with an injury on the hour mark on Wednesday evening during the match against Liverpool in the Champions League, Real Madrid’s French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga suffers from a muscle injury in his left thigh, the Madrid club announced on Thursday .
“Following the examinations carried out today by the club’s medical service on our player Eduardo Camavinga, he was diagnosed with a muscular injury to the biceps femoris of the left leg,” wrote Real in a press release, without specifying the duration of unavailability of the French international.
Camavinga (22), already injured in the knee in September, should be away from the field for two to three weeks, reports the Spanish press.
Replaced in the 56th minute after being Real Madrid’s best performer on Wednesday at Liverpool, the midfielder suffered the same injury as his teammate Vinicius Junior, who was also absent for several weeks.
Camavinga joins a long injury list at Real Madrid, including Carvajal, Militao, Tchouaméni, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Alaba. Carlo Ancelotti attributed this series of injuries to an overly busy schedule, with matches every three days.
According to several Spanish media, the situation could worsen: Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz having felt pain after the match and should undergo medical examinations tomorrow.
