The Stade Rennais technician, Jorge Sampaoli, will have to cope without two executives for the match against ASSE in Ligue 1. The Argentinian, however, announces a return.
Stade Rennais: Two packages and a reinforcement before ASSE
Stade Rennais welcomes AS Saint-Étienne to Roazhon Park this Saturday for the 13th day of Ligue 1. This meeting is very important for SRFC which is seeking to end the poor series of results.
The new coach, Jorge Sampaoli, having been unable to beat LOSC last weekend during his first official meeting on the bench of the Breton club, the Rouge et Noir must imperatively win against ASSE, an opponent also in difficulty, to move away a little from the red zone.
At a press conference before this meeting, Jorge Sampaoli took stock of his group. The Argentine technician will be deprived of Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu. The latter suffered a serious injury during the match against LOSC. Medical examinations carried out revealed a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the left knee.
The Ghana international will not be able to play again this season. The long-term injured Dogan Alemdar will also not be able to compete in this match. The good news is the return of Adrien Truffert to the Stade Rennais squad.
The left back, suspended for the match against LOSC for accumulation of yellow cards, has served his sanction and is once again available to help Stade Rennais. Stade Rennais is currently 15th in the Ligue 1 standings with 11 points while AS Saint-Étienne is 13th with 13 points.
