Club: Bayern apologizes to PSG and Al-Khelaïfi

Targeted by several insulting banners before Bayern/PSG (1-0), Nasser Al-Khelaïfi received a public apology from the Bavarian club.

A few minutes before the kick-off of the Bayern/PSG match (1-0), several banners were displayed at the bottom of the south bend of the Allianz Arena where the Munich's Red Pride ultras are located. Banners intended for Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and hostile to say the least.

“Minister, club owner, rights holder, member of the UEFA executive committee and president of the European Club Association, all at the same time? Is football me? Fuck you, Al-Khelaifi the plutocrat* »could we read in the stands of the Bavarian den.

“These banners do not correspond to the good, long-standing relationship between the two clubs”

If the Qatar version of PSG has often been criticized by the leaders of Bayern Munich and its supporters, the two clubs have united against the Superleague project in recent years and the deployment of these banners was somewhat unexpected. Wednesday, late in the afternoon, Bayern Munich issued a press release to apologize and assure that it had not authorized these banners, which PSG judged for its part “abusive”.

“FC Bayern would like to apologize when its opponents and their representatives in its stadium feel personally attacked in this manner and tone and are offended as a result. The club would like to clarify that these banners have not been authorized by FC Bayern and do not reflect its position. They do not correspond to the good, long-standing relationship between the two clubs. The tone of these banners also goes against the style of FC Bayern and the respectful relationship the club has with its international partners.said the German club.
