The disciplinary committee met last night for its weekly meeting. Among the sanctions imposed, one concerning Olympique Lyonnais after the derby against AS Saint-Étienne a little less than three weeks ago.
After the derby between Olympique Lyonnais and AS Saint-Étienne, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) took up the behavior of Lyon supporters for homophobic chants sung in the stands but also the use pyrotechnic devices at kick-off, interrupting the match for several minutes. Olympique Lyonnais was finally sanctioned yesterday evening with the closure of the space reserved for the Lyon 1950 group for a match with immediate effect: “11th day of Ligue 1 McDonald's: Olympique Lyonnais – AS Saint-Étienne Behavior of Olympique Lyonnais supporters: use of pyrotechnic devices leading to a temporary interruption of the match and oral and visual expressions observed. Closure for a match of the area reserved for the Lyon 1950 group at the Groupama Stadium. The sanction takes effect immediately.“
The lower part of the Virage Sud of the Groupama Stadium will therefore be closed for the Nice reception this weekend. Furthermore, the sanctioning body of the LFP confirmed the automatic suspension of the Saint-Etienne winger Augustine Boakye for three warnings received in a period comprising less than ten matches: “A match is closed following a third warning in a period including 10 official competition matches (Ligue 1 McDonald's, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions) or by revocation of the suspension. With the sanction taking effect from next week, the Ghanaian will miss the reception at Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, December 8, at 8:45 p.m.
