The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League decided, Wednesday November 27, the closure for a match of “the space reserved for the Lyon 1950 group” at the Groupama stadium following excesses during the derby between Olympique Lyonnais and Saint-Etienne on November 10. This sanction takes effect immediately, said the League press release.
If nothing had been noticed during the match by the authorities, a homophobic chant directed against the Stéphanois was nevertheless denounced on X at the end of the meeting by the Rouge Direct collective, which fights against homophobia in football. The match was also suspended for five minutes because of smoke bombs set off by supporters.
Concerning the projectile throw which targeted DAZN journalist Ambre Godillon during the match between Olympique de Marseille and Auxerre on November 8, the commission decided “a suspended match behind closed doors at the Vélodrome stadium”. Shortly before half-time of the OM-Auxerre match, lost by Marseille (3-1), Ambre Godillon, former presenter of PSG TV, was the victim of a projectile which hit her under the eye.
