Zeki Amoundi celebrated his first goal in the Champions League. Traveling to Monaco, the Swiss international gave Benfica victory by scoring 3-2 in the 88th minute. The Monegasques, with Denis Zakaria and Breel Embolo starting, thus conceded their first defeat of the competition.
However, it was Monaco who got off to the best start by opening the scoring thanks to Eliesse Ben Seghir after 13 minutes of play. But the Portuguese reacted by equalizing after returning from the locker room via Vangelis Pavlidis (48th).
Less than 2 minutes later, Maghnes Akliouche had a goal disallowed for an offside position. And it was the same for Benfica 4 minutes later, Alexander Bah seeing his goal canceled for… offside.
