Arriving last May, Brandao is already leaving Virton. The former OM striker has resigned.
Eager to become a professional coach in the future, Brandao had, as part of his training, an internship at Excelsior Virton at the end of last season.
Convincingly, the former Brazilian striker for Olympique de Marseille had been integrated into the staff of Jérôme Arpinon, the Gaumes coach, for this 2024-2025 season. He won’t be around for long.
Indeed, our colleagues from theFuture we learn this Wednesday that Brandao has reportedly resigned as manager of the team currently 3rd in D1 ACFF, which is two points behind Olympic Charleroi and RAEC Mons.
Still according to the same source, Brandao justified his resignation by disagreements between him and the club’s management, in particular on certain decisions taken or to be taken in the future. In addition, certain remarks from club leaders on Brandao’s work would not have gone through.
The 44-year-old man therefore finds himself free, while Excelsior Virton will be able to start looking for a new assistant.
