RC Vannes comes out of silence. This Wednesday, the Breton club decided to speak out through a press release concerning the decision of the French Rugby Federation to refer the matter to the disciplinary committee after the comments of Jean-Noël Spitzer on the arbitration after Vannes – UBB. Last Saturday, the promoted side lost 29-37 at home after leading 29-0 at half-time. And Spitzer had exploded against the arbitration. He assured that he had the feeling of being refereed like a child, before going even further by blurting: “Mistakes, it's not just the players who made them tonight […]. I'm having trouble: a televised match in the evening, the referee who sees the score increasing for a team that must play for the title… He's going to rebalance, obviously.“His comments did not please the FFR, which decided to refer the matter to the commission. And RC Vannes reacted this Wednesday in a press release.

Vannes takes note of the decision of the FFR

The Breton club claims that it and Spitzer have “took note of the decision of the French Rugby Federation to refer the matter to the disciplinary committee of the National Rugby League“. The RCV and its manager also declare that they “will be at the full disposal of this committee to clarify these remarks.“Vannes explains, however, that”these comments were made hotly after a defeat which was morally painful, due to its unique scenario and so cruel for the club. This is not an excuse but part of an explanation.“But Jean-Noël Spitzer is now at great risk and we will have to see what the Disciplinary Commission decides with regard to the coach of the Breton club…
