German sportswear maker Puma announced on Wednesday that it had signed a long-term deal with the Portuguese Federation, taking over from long-time rival Nike.

From 2025, the brand will equip all national football teams: men’s, women’s and youth, as well as futsal, beach soccer and e-sports teams.

“Signing a top national team was one of our priorities in football and I am very happy to welcome a team as popular as Portugal to the Puma family,” the chairman of the board said in a statement. of the Arne Freundt group.

“Given the large number of fans around the world and the great potential of the next generation of this team, we look forward to the next big tournaments such as the 2026 World Cup.”

Puma will unveil its new products early next year.

Nike signed its first contract with the Portuguese Federation in 1997.

The Portuguese men’s team will play their next two matches on March 20 and 23 against Denmark in the quarter-finals of the Nations League.
