As domestic competitions have resumed, the transfer market is fast approaching. Behind the scenes, things are happening and so you don’t miss anything, Footnews takes stock every day.
In Belgium
Anderlecht are expected to recruit a central defender in January. In recent weeks, the Mauves have been linked with Vince Osuji, but the young 18-year-old Nigerian defender is not expected to join the RSCA. Indeed, Hervé Renard does not seem interested in this player. Additionally, Osuji appears to be too young to be an immediate backup.
This situation could benefit Club Brugge. Indeed, the Bruges club could go on the attack in this matter if Joel Ordonez leaves in January. As a reminder, the latter is followed by clubs like Liverpool, PSG and Borussia Dortmund. The sale of the Ecuadorian defender could bring in between 25 and 30 million euros for the Blauw en Zwart.
Dedryck Boyata is also expected to leave Bruges in the near future. The ex-Red Devil negotiated with the Bruges leaders to terminate his contract by mutual agreement, but no solution could be found. Both parties are now hoping that an interesting club will make an offer for the ex-Red Devil in January.
Abroad
Inter Miami has its new coach. This is Javier Mascherano, former teammate of Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets at FC Barcelona.
