While his contract expires in a few months, Mo Salah is not yet sure about his future at the club.
The Liverpool striker ignited the powder by casting doubt on his future. “It’s almost December and I haven’t received an offer to stay at the club yet. I’m probably more outside than in,” he said on Sunday after his club’s victory at Southampton.
On Tuesday, the Liverpool manager tried to calm things down, by evoking a story amplified by the media.
”I talk to Mo about what I expect from him, as I do with all the other players, and he is in a good position at the moment. I’ve said it before, I’m not distracted by his comments at all and I don’t feel like his teammates are. It’s good that there is a Liverpool story in the media, so you have work to do too! ” said Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson agrees. ”He didn’t seem sad to me [aujourd’hui] ! Mo comes to training every day with a smile, he is in the gym working as hard as ever, he does the same on the training pitch. He’s one of the happiest people on the training ground, that’s for sure. He enjoys every moment spent on the field. It shows.”
Since the start of the season, the Egyptian international has already scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists.
