Former Celtic strongman, Dedryck Boyata has absolutely no say in the matter at Club Brugge. The central defender and former Red Devil nevertheless confided, in the English press, his desire to play in the meeting between Celtic and Bruges, in the Champions League.
Arriving in August 2022 from Hertha Berlin, Dedryck Boyata is still on the sidelines at Club Brugge. The Bruges management would have liked to part with the central defender during the summer, but they did not succeed. Here he is now dismissed.
This week is however special for the 33-year-old and ex-Red Devil, since the Club is visiting Boyata’s former lair, that of Celtic Glasgow, where he spent the best years of his career.

Questioned by the daily across the Channel on Daily RecordDedryck Boyata confided all the pain that is his not to enter into the plans for such Champions League matches.
“The situation I find myself in has been the same for some time. But it is true that it was an extra blow to see that we were going to Celtic and Manchester City, two clubs that I was at at the beginning of my career.”
“That was very difficult to hear because it would have meant a lot to me to come back to Glasgow and play at Celtic Park again. I spent four years there, it was probably the best period of my career and the one where I “I was the happiest,” he concluded.
