Under the effective presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) and the Hassan II Trophy Association are organizing the 16th edition of the All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), which will be held for the first time in Morocco from November 28 to 30 at the Tazegzout Golf Course in Agadir.
Created in 1992, the All Africa Challenge Trophy is a women’s team golf competition, exclusively dedicated to African nations. Created to promote and develop women’s golf on the African continent, this biennial competition brings together the best amateur golfers from the participating countries. No less than 20 nations will be represented in Agadir, which testifies to the great interest aroused by this first edition in Morocco (South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe). With fourteen victories, South Africa is the defending champion and the most successful nation in the tournament. For its 4th participation, the Moroccan team will be made up of the young rising star of Moroccan golf Sofia Cherif Essakali. Aged 15, the Arab champion and author of two cuts in the Lalla Meryem Cup will be accompanied by Nadia Sanz Ouezzani and Rim Imni, both residents of the federal program “Road To The Tour”, which supports the development of young talents. The Moroccan team will be keen to consolidate its continental position by repeating the performances obtained during previous participations.
Note that in 2016 and 2022, Morocco took 2nd place in the team rankings, with an individual victory during the last edition in Tanzania.
The organization of this event demonstrates the desire of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation to be an important player in golf at the continental level, and particularly in the development of women’s golf. On this occasion, the FRMG welcomes all participating teams and encourages them for this competition, which celebrates sporting excellence and the unity of African nations.
