Community actor Saad Abid distinguished at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in Nigeria

Saad Abid, president of the Bahri association in Rabat, was awarded the prestigious “Social Impact Award” during the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF), organized at the Entrepreneurship Village in Akure, Nigeria. Bringing together some 5,000 participants, the event was enhanced by the presence of senior local and international personalities, including the Head of State Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This distinction rewards the undeniable contributions of the environmental activist in the areas of environmental defense, youth involvement and social innovation. For more than 14 years, Saad Abid, who describes himself as an actor of change, has worked to create a concrete impact among young people.

Receiving the Social Impact Award, Saad Abid said: “This honor is not only mine; it belongs to all those who believe in the power of commitment and positive change.”

This second international recognition in 2024, he said, “fuels my determination to continue to break barriers, inspire action and work for a sustainable future in Morocco and Africa. »

Earlier this year, he received another major recognition in The Hague, Netherlands, at the OceanLove Innovation Awards, where his innovative project “Chbyka” was praised for its contribution to marine conservation.

A former Moroccan surfing champion, he transformed his passion for adrenaline into high-impact environmental and social projects, notably through the significant actions of the Bahri association. It carries out innovative initiatives such as beach cleaning, waste collection programs and recycling of ragpickers and educational projects for young people.

With an engaged community on social media, Saad Abid continues to inspire through his stories, pushing boundaries in sports, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. His commitment notably earned him the “2021 IVLP Alumni Decade of Social Innovation & Change Award”, presented by former US Secretary of State John Kerry.

He has also represented Morocco on prestigious international platforms such as COP21 in , the United Nations General Assembly and the Our Ocean conference in Washington.
