While the tennis courts are now closed and disc golf will remain accessible until the beginning of December, the municipal teams of Saint-Charles-Borromée are busy preparing the winter sports facilities.
Teams will install skating rinks, ice paths and snowy lanes for sliding as soon as weather conditions permit.
Then, the multifunctional shelter at Casavant-Desrochers Park will welcome its first skaters on November 26.
It will remain open until March, which will allow Charlois residents to fully enjoy the joys of winter.
This installation will guarantee a pleasant, safe experience and less dependent on the whims of Mother Nature.
The time slots offer hockey, free skating and figure skating periods on Saturdays as well as Sunday mornings.
Please note that school groups will also benefit from reserved hours during the week.
The Lanaudière municipality indicates that wearing a helmet with facial protector and a neck protector is now mandatory during free or organized hockey periods.
As soon as the weather permits, seven skating sites and icy trails as well as around ten sliding corridors will be set up.
Something new will be added to the activities while new slides will delight more daring snow sports enthusiasts.
However, the challenges posed by milder winters took their toll on the snow park at St-Jean-Bosco Park.
In addition, the fat bike trails will not be redeveloped at Parc du Bois-Brûlé.
Instead, citizens and visitors are invited to explore the marked snowshoe trails.
Finally, it is possible to find out about the state of winter sites by consulting the municipal website.
