Following the interview published on the Real Madrid website, Thibaut Courtois spoke on various and varied subjects (but not the national team). Asked who his best friends in football are, the goalkeeper made a surprising reference to two former Genk teammates: “When I was 16, Daniel Tözser sat next to me in the Limburg dressing room and he helped me a lot at the time. I still have a lot of contact with him, as with Elyaniv Barda.”
‘Stay linked to Real Madrid’
Since then, Courtois has come a long way and, due to his status, met many stars. “Tennis players Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, NBA player Joel Embiid and Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz are the most famous people in my phone book.”confides the Belgian goalkeeper.
The former Red Devil also reflected on his post-career. “What will I do in ten years? By then I would have already retired. I still hope to remain linked to Real Madrid in one way or another, as a coach in youth training or as an ambassador. These would be things I would do with great pleasure.”
Real Madrid is putting Thibaut Courtois’ locker up for sale, but it will be (very) expensive!
