big success of the Three Communes Telethon

Like every year for twenty-eight years, the three communes, Romagné, Saint-Sauveur et Saint-Hilaire, near Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine) unite for the same cause: the Telethon.

818 participants, €3,192.50 raised

The departures from the activities were staggered Pole des Landes in Saint-Hilaire-des-Landes. Coffee and chocolate were offered by the municipality.

And refueling (orange juice, water and pound cake offered by the commune of Romagné and served by the Primevères club), was offered halfway near the Saint-Joseph de Chaudeboeuf nursing home.

The arrival took place at the Les Korrigans village hall from Saint-Sauveur-des-Landes.

818 people participated in the various activities offered (mountain biking, cycling, walking, races and walks) for a collection of €2,089.50. Added to this is the collection for the muscle race at the Louis-Malassis public school in Saint-Hilaire (€633) and €470 in donations. That’s a total of €3,192.50. “It’s a very good year, thank you to all the participants and volunteers,” appreciates Pascal Mahé elected in Romagné.

Christiane Vincent, Téléthon pays de Fougères referent, presented the scientific advances major and very encouraging:

Today, we are treating and the results are spectacular. The video presented to participants demonstrates the first gene therapy treatments. Just one injection and Jules (myotubular myopathy), Eléna (Crigler-Najjar disease), Mathilde (congenital myasthenic syndrome), Oscar (spinal muscular atrophy) and Sacha (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) were all saved.

She thanks all the participants and volunteers and reminds that these victories would not have been possible without their support and that of millions of people. “The fight is not yet over for families who are still waiting for a diagnosis or treatment for their children.”

You can also give energy to the Telethon by participating in theoperation 1 pile = 1 donation by bringing your batteries until January 31, 2025 to the collection points, namely the town halls and schools of the three municipalities.
