The Collège de Lévis asks for good citizenship from its supporters

It was through the pen of the Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications of the Lévis institution, François Bilodeau, that the College publicly dissociated itself from the “personal initiative” of the said parent towards the second division youth football team. from Dalbé-Viau secondary school, in Montreal.

“Not only does this type of behavior deeply offend our values ​​of inclusion and respect, but it undermines the performance of our sports teams and our young people,” responded the communications manager in a statement sent to the media .

“We invite our supporters to show good citizenship whatever the outcome of a match and to remember that they must remain positive examples for our young people,” we can read in the press release.

A directive to parents

In a letter sent to the parents of the College’s student-athletes, the general director of the establishment, David Lehoux, invites supporters of all Commandeurs formations not to let passion and emotions take over and “tarnish the essence” of sporting practice.

A discriminatory letter

The day after the match between the Commandeurs de Lévis and the Aigles d’Or from Dalbé-Viau high school in Lachine, a parent poured out his heart by making several racist allusions in a letter. The man had notably described the players of the Montreal club as “young people with no future” among other insults.

“Instead of stealing cars, they intimidate others on a football field… it’s not as bad,” he quipped, saying he takes comfort and consoles himself that his child “won’t be raised in [un] ghetto».

“As my grandmother said so well: “poop attracts shit flies”,” he finished.
