CAF unveils the typical team for the 2024 Women’s Champions League in Morocco

The Confederation of African (CAF) has announced its typical team for the CAF Morocco Women’s Champions League 2024. It is made up of players who have distinguished themselves by their remarkable performances throughout this edition.

The CAF Technical Study Group (TSG), composed of football experts, coaches and technical advisors, developed this selection with meticulous attention, highlighting the most impactful talents of the tournament.

This standard team reflects the collective and individual excellence of the participants: it includes four players from the bronze medal winning club, FC Masar, four from TP Mazembe, winner of the event, two from the African vice-champions of AS FAR and a representative from Edo Queens.

In the cages, Habiba Sabry (FC Masar), voted Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, stands out thanks to her spectacular interventions and her authority in the area.

In defense, the central hinge, made up of Shadia Nankya and Aisha Nantongo (FC Masar), brings robustness and serenity. The corridors are entrusted to Miracle Usani (Edo Queens), tireless on his left flank, and to Vukulu Belange (TP Mazembe), a real wall on the right side.

In midfield, Marline Kasaj (TP Mazembe) stands out for his box-to-box role, brilliantly orchestrating the transition between defense and attack. Alongside him, Sanaa Mssoudy (AS FAR) and Sandrine Niyonkuru (FC Masar) bring creativity and dynamism, offering valuable offensive solutions.

The attacking trio, for its part, combines efficiency and flair. Doha El Madani (AS FAR), top scorer in the competition, occupies the right flank brilliantly, while Lacho Marta (TP Mazembe) brings percussion and vivacity on the left wing. Finally, up front, Merveille Kanjinga (TP Mazembe) establishes herself as a complete attacker, combining power and instinct in front of goal.
