Nicky Hayen faces unexpected problem after Brugge’s 7-0 win: ‘I don’t know if I’ll be able to leave the house’ – All football

Club Brugge swept Sint-Truiden this weekend (7-0). Nicky Hayen enjoys it but would have preferred it to happen against another opponent.

Nicky Hayen is a satisfied coach after his team’s performance. It’s hard to find false notes after a 7-0 victory. But the Bruges T1 still had one regret.

He probably didn’t expect to hit his favorite club to this extent. Hayen was born in Sint-Truiden, trained there, played for more than ten years at Stayen and even worked there for two years as a coach.

“It was my biggest victory as a coach. Only, it was against the opponent who is particularly close to my heart in this competition,” he admits to Nieuwsblad.

No mercy during the 90 minutes

He even still lives a stone’s throw from the Stayen: “I just don’t know if I’ll be able to go out in Saint-Trond over the next few days” he laughs.

Last season, it was a defeat in Sint-Truiden on the last day of the classic phase which precipitated the dismissal of Ronny Deila, and therefore the arrival of Nicky Hayen at the head of the first team, with the sequence that we know.
