The 12th day of Ligue 1 was very favorable to PSG, overall relentless against Toulouse (3-0), since, if all its competitors on the podium won, Paris now finds itself at the top of the only secondary ranking that he did not dominate.
Despite the international break which took place just before it, the 12th day of Ligue 1 ultimately held no surprises since the top five in the ranking won without trembling this weekend. From Friday, AS Monaco (3-2 against Brest) and PSG (3-0 against Toulouse) continued their mano a mano at the top of the ranking and the gap was therefore still six points between the Parisian leader and his dolphin.
But all the pursuers got in tune: OM won 3-1 in Lens at the end of the match that the locals did not digest then Lille against Rennes (1-0) and Nice against Strasbourg (2 -1) did the same this Sunday. The bad operation is for Lyon, slowed down by Moscardo's Reims (1-1) and which loses a place in the ranking. But OL, or even OM who are 3rd, are already far from PSG after this 12th day: Marseille is on 9 points and OL on 13.
The top 5 of L1 after the 12th day:
- PSG : 32 points (+26)
- Monaco : 26 points (+11)
- Marseille : 23 points (+11)
- Lille : 22 points (+8)
- Nice : 20 points (+11)
PSG now best defense
This twelfth day, however, allowed two things: PSG once again took care of its goal difference with a 3-0 success and it managed to maintain its incredible average of three goals scored per Ligue 1 match since it is very precisely to 36 in 12 days. But for the first time this season, PSG is now the best defense in the championship with only ten goals conceded.
Until then, it was Monaco which was at the top of this secondary ranking but the two goals conceded against Brest partly cost ASM this first place since they must now share it with Luis Enrique's troops. Note that Lille, eleven goals conceded in twelve matches, is just behind while Nice, 5th in the general ranking, is also the 4th best defense. In L1, not cashing in is therefore still profitable.
