???? RFC Liège loses to Maasmechelen – All football

RFC Liège lost against Patro Eisden this Sunday. The ball definitely did not want to go in for the Liégeois, who lost with two goals in Maasmechelen.

This Sunday, RFC Liège returned to the Challenger Pro League after the international break. On the road, Gaëtan Englebert’s men lost to Patro Eisden with a score of 2-0.

The first goal of the match came from the head of Jordan Renson in the 25th minute of play. The Limburg captain placed the ball perfectly following a long touch from the Patro. At the end of the first half, RFC Liège tried to come back, but without success. Pierre-Yves Ngawa tried his luck, but the goalkeeper stopped his shot. Mohamed Mouhlia also tried, but his ball went far from the goal.

The Patro starts again strong

From the start of the second half, the Patro doubled the lead thanks to Simon Bammens, who placed an unstoppable header on a cross. The break is over.

The Sang & Marine tried to reduce the gap, but they never succeeded. In the 58th minute, Zakaria Atteri adjusted a shot, but the striker failed to finish. Eight minutes later, Alexis Lefebvre delivered a superb ball back into the big rectangle for Mohamed Mouhli, but the latter did not materialize. Jordi Belin kept an eye on things.

A few moments later, Zakaria Atteri attempted a shot, but it ended up on the square. The ball definitely did not want to go in for the Liégeois. Dansoko even almost scored the third goal for the Patro, but Antoine Lejoly blocked his shot. At the very end of the match, RFC Liège had one last opportunity, but nothing worked: luck was not on their side.

In the ranking, the Liège club is in 11th place with 13 points. Next week, RFC Liège will face Deinze at home. It remains to be seen whether this meeting will take place, given the financial problems of the Flemish club.
