van Nistelrooy already back on a bench?

Football moves very quickly these days for the players but especially for the coaches. Installed after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag, as interim coach on the bench of Manchester United where he would have liked to stay longer, Ruud van Nistelrooy was dismissed after only four matches (3 victories and a draw). A positive result for the Dutchman and barely without a position, he could very quickly find a team. 8th in 2. Bundesliga, the second German division, Hamburg has just fired its coach Steffen Baumgart and would make the former striker its long-term priority according to information from SkySport.

Several targeted candidates

If Ruud van Nistelrooy appears to be the favorite candidate for this position, it is for two reasons which link him to the club. First of all, when he was a player, he defended the colors of HSV during the 2010/2011 season with 17 goals scored in 44 matches. Then at the start of the year, former sporting director Jonas Boldt was in advanced discussions with the 48-year-old for the coaching position. But he is not the only technician since Lukas Kwasniok, coach of SC Paderborn, Torsten Lieberknecht who recently moved to Darmstadt 98, David Wagner who moved to Norwich City, Bruno Labbadia and Friedhelm Funkel (both without a club) are also on the short list from the German club.
