RS Berkane seriously accused

Algeria – The match between RS Berkane and Hassania Agadir was talked about yesterday due to a controversial refereeing decision which fueled the debates. With the two teams tied 0-0, the referee awarded a dubious penalty to RS Berkane, which angered players and supporters of Hassania Agadir.

The incident occurred when the RS Berkane striker fell in the Agadir penalty area after contact with the opposing defender. However, after rewatching the action closely, it appeared that the Agadir defender did not in fact touch the attacker, which immediately raised questions about the referee’s decision, especially given the proximity of the latter to the incident.

The penalty was initially awarded, but the controversy did not stop there. When the Berkane striker took his shot, the Agadir goalkeeper managed to stop it, but the referee ordered the penalty taken away, ruling that the goalkeeper had left his line before the ball was struck. However, the images show that the goalkeeper remained well on his line at the time of the shot. This decision further strengthened accusations of favoritism against Berkane.

Finally, the penalty was taken a second time, and this time, Berkane did not miss the opportunity to take the lead. This decision fueled rumors that RS Berkane would benefit from the help of referees to maintain its dominant position in the Moroccan championship. Although the team won the match 2-1, this situation tainted the victory and reignited accusations of bias in Moroccan football.

RS Berkane, currently top of the Moroccan Ligue 1 standings with 26 points from 11 games, remain a feared team, but this victory has been overshadowed by controversy surrounding the refereeing. With only 5 goals conceded and 14 scored, Berkane continues to dominate the competition, but this new controversy could tarnish the reputation of the team, despite its good results.
