Friborg loses again, Biel no longer wins – rts.ch

A weekend to forget for Fribourg, beaten the day before by Lausanne at home (3-2 ap), the Fribourgeois lost 5-3 at Ambri. For its part, Biel was beaten 4-3 ap in Kloten and did a bad job in the race for the top-6.

There was no observation round at the Gottardo Arena. The lamp had already been lit twice after 6 minutes. It was first of all Sandro Schmid who gave the Fribourgeois advantage after 3’21 before Floran Douay equalized for Ambri in the 6th.

In the second half, it took a special situation to see Friborg regain the advantage. Kodie Curran punished, Jacob de la Rose did not hold back to score 2-1 in the 28th minute.

In front of their home crowd, the Leventins rebelled in the 3rd period to score 3 goals in less than 4 minutes. It was first of all Dominik Kubalik who scored the equalizing goal in the 42nd before Philippe Maillet gave Ambri a head start in the 45th. Fifty-four seconds later, Daniele Grassi even gave a two-goal lead to the delight of the public. Raphaël Diaz’s 4-3 47 seconds later proved to be anecdotal, with the Friborg team failing to equalize. Grassi finally secured his team’s victory in the 60th minute to score a double.

Bienne loses a match at “6 points”

For its part, Bienne lost the match that should not have been lost in the race for the top-6. Seventh, 3 points behind Kloten before this evening, the Biel residents now find themselves 4 points behind their evening opponent.

In Zurich, it was the Zealanders who launched the hostilities by opening the scoring in the 19th minute via Aleksi Heponiemi. The Aviators nevertheless reacted in the 2nd third, Mischa Ramel equalizing at 5 against 4 in the 24th. The Biennois certainly regained the advantage in the 29th via Jere Sallinen, but the Aviators once again came back to the mark after a new power-play goal, the work of Thomas Gregoire in the 43rd.

Fourth defeat in a row for the Zealanders

Biel reacted quickly and took the lead less than two minutes after the equalizer thanks to Nicolas Müller, but Kloten found the resources to equalize 1’18 from the end of regulation time thanks to Daniel Audette.

In extra time, a minor penalty imposed on Ramon Tanner finally allowed Kloten to secure victory thanks to a goal from Miro Aaltonen in the 64th minute. For Bienne, more than a missed opportunity to return to the top-6, this is the 4th defeat in a row. The club will have to quickly get back on the path to victory in order not to fall into a negative spiral.
