Also relying on the organization chart put in place this summer with the institution's advisor Fabrizio Ravanelli, the sports advisor Medhi Benatia, Giovanni Rossi the club manager, and especially Roberto De Zerbi, the coach.
The main man behind this three-year “relaunch project” is the Italian coach whom he managed to convince to come to Marseille this summer. “I phone Edoardo Crnjar, Roberto's agent, and I tell him: 'I know it's impossible, but I'll try.' I convinced him with transparency, passion and with the project. Roberto followed his heart, I believe that the enthusiasm of a city and an audience like that of Marseille, 49,000 subscribers, had an impact,” he confides to the Italian daily.
His “impossible dream”, as Longoria confided to 20 Minutes a few days before the arrival of De Zerbi was carried out and the three-year recovery plan then took shape. “The objective is to become the anti-PSG. In the meantime, we are the only French team to have won the Champions League,” warns Longoria.
