The Slovenian basketball player will be absent for several games following a sprained right wrist which was announced by his franchise, the Dallas Mavericks, this Thursday.
Dallas Mavericks star point guard Luka Doncic will be unavailable for at least a week due to a sprained right wrist, the Texas franchise announced Thursday. The 25-year-old Slovenian star was injured during the Mavs’ big victory against the New Orleans Pelicans 132-91 on Tuesday. A meeting in which Doncic scored 26 points (10/16 shooting), grabbed five rebounds and delivered as many assists in 30 minutes.
It was his return to the court after having already withdrawn against Oklahoma City last Sunday due to an ankle injury. Doncic will miss at least the Mavs’ next four matches, including three on the road (in Denver on Friday, in Miami on Sunday and in Atlanta on Monday before the reception in New York on Wednesday).
This is a real blow for the Texan franchise, which is struggling to regain the level which had reached the NBA final last season, lost against the Boston Celtics in June. It is currently in 10th place in the Western Conference with a record of eight wins and seven defeats since the start of the season. Doncic, top scorer last season, averages 28.1 points, 7.6 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game.
