Among the Devils, the enigma Killian Sardella: “Why are they sending him?” – All football

Quite surprising fact after the match against Israel: Killian Sardella showed up for the interview even though he had only played…one minute.

In the very last seconds of the match against Israel in the Nations League, Killian Sardella had the opportunity to step on the pitch for the first time in the Red Devils jersey. Coming into play in place of Ameen Al-Dakhil, he was one, with Matte Smets and Norman Bassette, of the newcomers to honor their first selection during this match.

After the meeting, Sardella spoke in front of the cameras. “I think the supporters remain behind us,” said the young defender during a flash interview, visibly moved by this special moment.

A situation which, however, sparked a mixed reaction from Kevin Mirallas. The former Belgian international expressed his reservations in the columns of The Capital : “It’s good that he showed a positive attitude to mark his big debut, but I find it strange that someone who only played one minute would be asked to give an interview. He had the courage to speak, but it didn’t seem necessary to me.”

Mirallas also shared his feelings on the relationship between the national team and its supporters. “The fans are fed up with certain attitudes, but they continue to support because they know that a lot of young players are coming and that it takes time. However, this support has to be earned.”

The former striker concluded by pointing the finger at Domenico Tedesco, the current coach, whom he considers disconnected from reality. “After the Courtois affair, he gave the impression of being strict, but we quickly realized that he was overwhelmed. Some players only give 50% of their potential, and there is necessarily a reason for that.”
