Mathias Delorge is the son of Peter Delorge, a former Sint-Truiden player. Her mother’s roots are more international.
Mathias Delorge is officially called Mathias Delorge-Knieper. This double name actually comes from his mother, the La Gantoise player tells Het Nieuwsblad.

Future Devil…unless?
With all the consequences that entails. As an international, he could therefore also play for Spain and Germany if he wishes. Until now, he has always represented Belgium, he took part again at half-time with the Diablotins yesterday.
“I don’t think they know me in Germany and Spain. I have to say that my Spanish family is very passionate. They would be delighted to see me wear the La Roja jersey,” adds Delorge.
And he is also open to this idea. “Why not. But as I said, I especially feel this passion for my Spanish roots. And I’m also just a proud Belgian, that’s not to be forgotten. I consider this cultural diversity as a wealth.”
