Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024, for two days, the Compagnie d’arc de Vernon organized its indoor shooting competition 2×18 meters during which 162 archers from Ile-de-France and Normandy competed on the shooting range of the Ariane gymnasium, in Vernon, in Eure.

The Compagnie d’Arc had placed this competition, a qualifier for the French championship, under the signs of professionalism and conviviality.

Qualifier for the French championship

All categories were represented, from U13 to S3, and all weapons were present, from the recurve bow to the compound bow as well as bows without sights.

The shooting distance is the same for everyone (18 meters) but the size of the target face changes depending on the category of each archer.

THE results The final results were only known on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. with very good results for the archers of the Vernon Company. Catherine Delalande, deputy mayor, actively participated in the awards ceremony and earlier in the afternoon Johan Auvray, deputy mayor in charge of sports, also came to encourage and congratulate the organizers for their seriousness in organizing this competition .

Women in the spotlight

Beautiful harvest of medals for the archers of the Company, particularly among the young people who won five medals, and it was the young women who stood out the most.

For young people (U13 and U15), in their respective categories, gold medals for Elea Lampin, Marion Martin and Tilween Guenego. Bronze medals for Flavia Beyrand and Elrick Defeings.

For adults, Frédéric Calmus won the gold medal, while Francine Sarasin and Philippe Bernuit obtained silver and Sixtine Neuveglise the bronze.

The next big meeting of the Vernon Arc Company is set for January 25 and 26, 2025 with the organization of a beginners’ competition, on Saturday, and on Sunday of the youth departmental championship.
