A few months before the 38th edition of the Freedom Marathonwhich will take place from June 12 to 15, 2025 between Courseulles-sur-Mer and Caen (Calvados)the public’s enthusiasm is already present. This emblematic event, organized as part of the Millennium of the city of Caen, promises to be an unforgettable event. From the first week of opening of registrations, nearly 15,000 runners have already committed, a figure which demonstrates resounding success.

Impressive figures for each event

The Freedom Marathon already has 1,300 registered out of the 5,000 places available, while the half marathon is off to a flying start with 2,700 registered. Lovers of relay are also mobilizing, with 75 teams out of the 250 expected ready to take on this challenge.

The race of 10 kilometers attracts many enthusiasts, with 1,800 runners already registered, while La Rochambellean emblematic women’s and solidarity event, continues to inspire enthusiasm with 4,700 participants out of a possible 7,500. Finally, the Strides of Libertyreserved for schools, demonstrate that the fervor for this event exceeds all expectations: the 4,000 places are now full.

The various events recorded three times more registrations than last year at the same time.

Each year the event reaches a milestone and enjoys spectacular popularity. If we had anticipated the impatience and growing expectations of the participants, we had not imagined such a tidal wave.

A call not to miss the opportunity

For those who still wish to register, there are still places available, but you will have to act quickly. “Faced with this unprecedented fervor, it is likely that the available places will quickly run out,” rejoices Nicolas Hassane.
