The oldest of Kersalic is a fan of En Avant Guingamp

At the Résidence de Kersalic, in Guingamp, celebrating a birthday is always a small event. Especially when it concerns that of its oldest who, on November 29, will celebrate her 104th birthday. A venerable age which even makes Élisa the oldest of the town of Guingamp. So, the public nursing home decided, rather than gathering 104 candles on a cake (not easy), to launch an appeal on social networks to request 104 birthday cards.

104 messages

“We received 99 happy cards, and others are on the way. We will get the 104 more than enough. The idea is to send kind little words to elderly people. It comes from everywhere, from everyone who wants it. The jovial cards group has just been created, it is the first time that we have taken this initiative. Before, it was about writing to each other between nursing home residents,” says Cathy Vidot, gerontological care assistant at the Kersalic Residence, at the origin of the initiative.

Élisa loves her village of Ty Ker, she often tells us that she appreciates being treated like a princess.

The latter already knows that reading all the messages will take time, beyond the single day of November 29. The healthcare professional smiles in advance, because she expects a good time alongside village resident Ty Ker. “Élisa is someone who is quick and responsive. She likes to sleep in, sometimes until noon. She is able to play dominoes without wearing glasses. She loves her village of Ty Ker, she often tells us that she appreciates being treated like a princess.”

Invited to the match against

The dean of the Kersalic Residence, originally from Ploumagoar, is also a long-time supporter of En Avant Guingamp. “She has been a fan since 1960, loyal to the Yves-Jaguin stadium and now to Roudourou. Always by his daughter’s side. It’s more difficult for her today because she uses a wheelchair, but she attended a match at the start of the season, in August or September. Even if she has a preference for former players rather than the current generation,” expresses the wife of Jacky Vidot, former professional footballer, who played for nine seasons at En Avant Guingamp (274 matches).

This facilitated the link with En Avant Guingamp, which decided to invite Élisa and nursing staff to the Ligue 2 match, this Friday, November 22, against Amiens. “It’s always a pleasure to please. He is someone who has been loyal to En Avant for so long and 104 years, that’s not nothing,” underlines Christophe Gautier, the club’s communications director. The centenarian from Guingamp, the second in the EAG after Marie-Mathurine (who died in 2015), will receive, on this occasion, a red jersey which will be adorned with No. 104.
