Brian Riemer experienced his first international break with Denmark, and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Nations League. But he also had a rather bizarre moment at a press conference.
Brian Riemer has yet to win a match at the helm of Denmark. A narrow defeat against Spain (1-2), then a draw against Serbia (0-0) was enough to qualify its selection for the quarter-finals of the Nations League.
After this second match, Brian Riemer went to a press conference… which probably turned out to be the quickest of his career. Indeed, the former RSC Anderlecht coach left the room after just 20 seconds.
And not because a question asked upset him. On the contrary: the press manager asked if there were any questions for the Danish coach, but no one answered, despite the presence of a few journalists.
“No one?” the press manager checked again to be sure. But it turned out no one had any questions. To which Riemer stood up, smiled broadly and left. This is something that had never happened to Anderlecht during his stay…
