Victor Koretzky, Olympic mountain bike vice-champion, treats himself to a gourmet break in Aude

It’s not every day that a top athlete makes a stopover in Conilhac-Corbières. The Giraudo family, manager of the hotel-restaurant L’art des mets, had the pleasant surprise of welcoming Victor Koretzky to their establishment, who came for dinner. Happiness all the greater since Jean-Marc, the head of the family, is himself a former cyclist.

One of the department’s finest ambassadors

Passing through, the excellent sportsman who has been performing at the world level in mountain biking for years, is at 30 years old one of the finest ambassadors of the department, an experienced cyclist who has competed in the most beautiful national road events. Today he has a prestigious track record in the field of mountain biking: 2024 world champion in short track mountain biking; vice world champion and 2nd in the 2024 cross-country mountain bike world cup; vice-champion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This shows how much, in his original club, the Vélo sprint Narbonnais, we are not a little proud of Victor, like Michel Blaya, the essential spearhead of the Narbonne cycling club. “He is a boy of global value, who plays at the highest level. We have welcomed him to the club since 2003. I have always followed him, I can say that I have an almost filial relationship with him. “I haven’t heard the last of him,” confided the very involved cycling volunteer.

Before the gourmet break in Conilha, invited by his club, the Olympic vice-champion agreed to participate in a representation mission at the Peugeot establishments in Lézignan-Corbières. In the presence of numerous partners, he was honorably received by Claude Daumas, manager of the car dealership, but also president of the Lézignan Vélo club. After the required laudatory speeches, Victor was very willing to sign many autographs, photos and selfies with many teenagers and fans. Obviously a memorable memory for all, a sporting example to follow for future generations.
