Douarnenez. Paul Menou, new president of DZ Natation

From now on, the DZ Natation is chaired by Paul Menou (who replaces Gildas Castrec) assisted by Magali Griffon in finance, and Marie Gosse in the secretariat.

On Friday, Gildas Castrec affirmed that the club was doing well in terms of numbers and results. “The lights are green again after some concerns last season for the swimming school,” he said. The five groups of the club, namely the swimming school, the hopes, the juniors, the elites and the masters are full. »

“The next generation is on the right track”

In 2023-2024, the swimming school recorded 100% validation of acquired knowledge to move to the next level. “In addition, twelve young people, from the pass’competition and future groups, participated in at least one district, underlines coach Julien Lacombe. The next generation therefore seems to be on good track. Last season, the club participated in 33 competitions and totaled 205 podiums, all categories combined. »

The main results. Hippolyne Mortier-Mangeno, Ethan Hémon and Alice Gosse were selected for the Finistère team. At the winter regionals in Fougères, two swimmers reached the podium seven times: Gaëlle Kervarec (4 podiums) and Rémy Castrec (3 podiums). At the junior interclubs in Chateauneuf, the girls team finished in 4the place just 67 points from the 3e. On the boys’ side, the competition was just as intense. Ethan, Lukas, Andy, Marin and Marin won 3e place. Bodes well for the 2024-2025 season.

Note that Alice Gosse obtains her qualification for the French junior championships in the 400 mx medley, at the Webconfrontation. At the Summer Championships, in , five podiums are to the credit of DZ Natation.

Last season, the Douarneniste masters participated in the all categories meeting in Brest, in the masters evening, in , in the Brittany championships, in Vitré, in the interclubs in Chateauneuf-du-Faou, in the French winter championships in Puy-en -Velay, at the spring meeting in , at the summer meeting in , at two open water stages and at the world championships in Doha, Qatar, where Karine Lastennet is vice-world champion in the 400 mx medley and 3e over 200m backstroke.
