Point helps Lightning come from behind against Pittsburgh

Brayden Point scored his second goal of the night at 3:58 of overtime and the Tampa Bay Lightning came from behind to win 3-2 against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.

Point, who returned to action after missing four games with a lower-body injury, gave his team the victory with his 10th goal of the season, which he scored taking advantage of the fact that Jarry found himself far from his net following an attack by Tampa Bay in opposing territory.

The center player was the one who started the comeback for the Lightning (10-6-1) as he reduced the gap to 2-1 at 5:41 of the third period when he went for a loose puck in the corner of the ice, went around the back of the net and appeared in front of Tristan Jarry to score with a backhand. He has at least one goal in seven of his nine most recent matches (eight goals).

Anthony Cirelli tied the game 2-2 at 12:49 of the third. Darren Raddysh had two assists and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 17 saves for the Lightning, who posted their third straight victory.

Jesse Puljujarvi and Rickard Rakell gave the Penguins a 2-0 lead (7-10-4) after 40 minutes of play, but they ended up suffering a fourth defeat in their five most recent outings (1-2-2 ).

Sidney Crosby collected an assist, the 1017th of his career, to find himself alone in 13th place in NHL history in this regard, ahead of Joe Sakic.

Jarry stopped 32 shots in his second start since returning from his AHL rehab stint. He is 1-2-1 this season.

Tampa Bay forward Nick Paul did not play beginning in the third period. The reason for his absence was not disclosed.
