On February 17, 2025, Emeline and Maéva will leave Brittany and head to Biarritz.

Wedged in their F4 van, those who come from Lamballe (Côtes-d’Armor) will set off towards North Africa for a journey of 6,000 km in 13 days.

“We started this project at the beginning of 2024. It was now or never,” smiles the beaming Maéva.

School supplies and sports equipment

Aged 24, the two accomplices attended the Henri-Avril high school in Lamballe. That’s where they met.

A few years later, Maéva works at the Ministry of Public Finance in Paris and Emeline is an osteopath in Nantes. Here they are in full preparation for the 4L Trophy 2025.

Dedicated to 18-28 year olds, of all nationalities, each year it brings together a large group of friends (up to 2,400!) and as many compasses, who cross Spain and discover Morocco together, from Tangier to the Atlas, from Merzouga to Ouarzazate, from Tichka to Marrakech.

This solidarity orientation rally aims to distribute supplies to the most disadvantaged.

The crews participating in the Raid 4L Trophy are invited to support the action of Enfants du Desert by sending material donations (school supplies and sports equipment) and by participating financially in the school construction project.

The team with crew number 820 is calling for donations to businesses and individuals.

A car that old-timers like

“We found the car in Merdrignac. It dates from 1982 and served as a company vehicle for EDF,” explains Maéva. Left in its juice, “we will have to scrape off the color! » Its price? 4,000 euros. Technical inspection? Okay! “We often walk with it. The elders stop and look curious. We are dealing with real enthusiasts so we open the hood and off we go! »

If none of them is particularly comfortable with mechanics, Emeline and Maéva are full of savvy and know how to surround themselves. Indeed, there is an educational project with the Bac pro agricultural sector of their former high school.

Students work on the car while they observe and learn. “When we dropped the car off at school, the belt broke! They’re keeping it while they wait to get the parts. We have to buy some. Sodi-PL provides them to us. They sponsor us in their own way. »

Another 8,000 euros

The adventure has not yet begun when the troubles begin. But it’s part of the game and it’s good preparation for what awaits them there.

And then, crisis management is Maéva’s specialty. “At my side, Emeline is a real fighter, a hard worker. She never gives up, especially when it comes to finding sponsors. »

Between them, they intend to fend for themselves in the desert, not depending only on their qualities.

“Of the 12,000 euros to be collected, we have 4,000. We are counting on everyone’s support to carry out our project,” indicate “Samantha and Chantal”. You may have understood the reference to the series of short sketches featuring the daily life of Samantha Lo and her inseparable friend Chantal Matieu. “The brunette and the blonde,” explains Maéva. Who is not lacking in impatience at the idea of ​​achieving this challenge.

“We will acquire other skills, get out of our comfort zone. All these preparations also allow us to keep in touch with the local people. » Young women who remember where they came from and who know where they are going.
