San Marino signs the biggest victory in its history and moves up to League C – League of Nations – League D – Liechtenstein-San Marino (1-3)

Liechtenstein 1-3 Saint-Marin

Buts : Sele (40e) for the Blue-Red // Lazzari (46e), Nanni (66eSP) and Golinucci (77e) for the Serenissima.

It's official: San Marino is no longer the worst team in the world.

A little over two months after signing his first international victory in almost 20 years, the oldest republic in the world repeated the feat this Monday against Liechtenstein. During the final day of the Petit Poucet D League, the Very serene overthrew his opponent to win on the move (1-3). It is nothing more and nothing less than the largest victory in the entire history of San Marino, since the small country had so far won only two international matches in 34 yearseach time with a score of 1-0 (and each time against Liechtenstein).

Even stronger: with 7 points on the clock, the team led by Roberto Cevoli finishes at the top of group 1 of League D ahead of Gibraltar (6 pts and barrage) and Liechtenstein (2 pts). It thus accesses League C for the first time since the creation of the League of Nations, where it will be able to compete against opponents of a higher caliber.

We may well have found a new team to replace the Blues in our hearts.

And San Marino tasted victory again
