McDavid, Marchment and Vasilevskiy are the three stars of the week

FIRST STAR – CONNOR McDAVID, C, EDMONTON OILERS

McDavid became the fourth-fastest player (659 games) and fourth-youngest player (27 years, 306 days) to reach 1,000 points in NHL history, when he had eight points (three goals, five assists) to propel the Oilers (9-7-2, 20 points) to a 2-0-1 record last week.

He participated in all four of Edmonton’s goals (one goal, three assists), including getting the primary assist on Leon Draisaitl’s overtime goal in a 4–3 victory against the New York Islanders on November 12. McDavid then recorded two points (one goal, one assist) in a 3–2 victory over the Nashville Predators on November 14. It was by scoring at 2:44 of the second period that he became the 99th player in League history to score 1,000 points. He then added two points (one goal, one assist) in a 4–3 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 16.

McDavid, a five-time Ross Trophy winner, four-time Ted Lindsay Trophy winner and three-time Hart Trophy winner, is third in NHL history (minimum 100 games) with an average of 1.52 points per career meeting (342-661—1003, 660 GM), behind Wayne Gretzky (1.92) and Mario Lemieux (1.88). This season, he has 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) in 15 games and he has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) during an active streak of four games with at least one goal and more by one point since November 9.
