“He’s a Senegalese like any other, but…”

Pape Thiaw, the interim coach of the Senegal national team, spoke about the Noah Fadiga case at a press conference this Tuesday. The Senegalese technician who was questioned about the absence of the Gent player in the Belgian championship in his list, while he multiplies the good performances with his club.

Noah Fadiga has been absent from La Tanière since 2023. Summoned twice by Aliou Cissé, the son of the former player of the Fadiga team, Khalilou Fadiga has not played a single minute in the colors of Senegal. Performing well with his club with 3 goals in 14 appearances, the 24-year-old defender was not included in his list by Pape Thiaw.

At a press conference, Aliou Cissé’s replacement tried to explain the absence of Fadiga from his list, before mentioning his health. “I took the steps, we spoke. He is a Senegalese like any other. But for now, let’s let him recover properly. Then we’ll see how things go,” Thiaw first explained.

Noah Fadiga, who recently felt unwell during the 14th day of the Belgian championship, will have a defibrillator implanted. The operation that Noah Fadiga will undergo does not endanger his career, and doctors are confident in his ability to return to the high level. Pape Thiaw, who wishes Fadiga a good recovery, affirms that he will closely follow his performances and does not rule out the possibility of summoning him soon.
