Togo concluded its African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers on a positive note, beating Equatorial Guinea 3-0. Although already eliminated, Togo showed its character during this meeting.
Amor opened the scoring in the 14th minute, quickly giving the Togolese confidence. In the second half, Denkey doubled the lead with a goal in the 54th minute. Amor then scored his brace in the 87th minute, sealing the victory. Despite this great performance, Togo will not be able to qualify for the CAN.
Algeria dominates this group with 16 points. Equatorial Guinea finishes 2nd and wins its ticket to Morocco. Togo ranks 3rd, ahead of Liberia.
