Oualid Jaouadi and Marwa Chihab win the 7th El Jadida half-marathon

Oualid Jaouadi pulverized the 21 km of the event with a time of 1h05min28sec, ahead of Abderrahim Douma (1h11min56sec) and Abd Ouidir (1h12min12sec).

Among the ladies, Marwa Chihab dominated the competition by crossing the finish line in 1h30min43sec. Badiâ Elmir (1h44min32sec) and Sanae Abdeljabar (1h44min33sec) completed the podium.

In statements to the press, the two winners highlighted the difficulty of the course and the tough competition imposed by other athletes, believing that the El Jadida marathon is an important step in the preparation of future competitions.

Alongside the half-marathon, a 10 km race was also organized to encourage amateurs to start a professional career and promote athletics among young people. This event was won by Saïd Boutaleb and Sara Mousaid.

Organized under the theme “Sport in the service of development”, this event, initiated by the Mazagan Association with the support of the province and the urban commune of El Jadida, brought together nearly a thousand participants, aged 13 to 70 years old and coming from different regions of the Kingdom.

The director of the half-marathon, Mostapha Boutaleb, underlined the importance of this edition which marks the return of the competition after an interruption. “Our objective is to position El Jadida as a flagship destination for sport and tourism, in harmony with national guidelines for sports development,” he said.

At the end of the competition, prizes and trophies were awarded to the winners of this edition.
