This Saturday, November 16 at 11 p.m., while he was in the leading group of the west option, the Malouin Louis Burton warned his shore team and the Vendée Globe race management that he had just heard a noise very worrying: a “big crack” which immediately caught his attention on board the IMOCA Bureau Vallée.

After taking all the necessary precautions and carrying out a series of checks, he noted the presence of cracks on the deck of the boat (at the Gennaker spreader), which could risk affecting the structural integrity of the boat.

Contacted, its team on land had no more information this Sunday, November 16 at 9:30 a.m.

Louis continues the investigations. The skipper of the IMOCA Bureau Vallée remains in the race.

A few hours earlier, entangled like most of the competitors in full in the soft zone (windless zone), Louis took the opportunity to make some drone videos.

His Breton compatriot Jean Le Cam is still at the head of the race this Sunday, November 17.
