Third home victory in a row for the Ajoulots who beat Ambri 4-2 on Saturday evening. This excellent performance is a positive signal from Porrentruy. For once, the Jurassiens played a full match for 60 minutes and the box-play held up in key moments. This success was achieved collectively, but two men still lifted the whole group to the top: Philip-Michael Devos and Jerry Turkulainen.
This third victory in a row at home for the Ajoulots now allows them to have 15 points in 20 matches. Not enough to put them back in the rankings, but enough to give them morale. Because their performance was very good and above all very consistent against Ambri.
The Bienne suffered a small snub on their ice by losing 0-1 against Langnau who were going through a bad patch recently, what’s more. But the Tigers’ discipline throughout much of the match and a difficult start to the match from the evening’s hosts made the difference in the end. Even a long double advantage in the third period changed nothing.
Things started off badly for the Zealanders, largely dominated in the first third. The Emmentalois were rightly rewarded with a goal from Lapinskis in the 19th minute. Martin Filander’s squad tried to react, but it was without counting on that damn post, which stood in front of Heponiemi (25th). The 6,436 spectators at the Tissot Arena must not have appreciated the 27 shots conceded by their team during the first 40 minutes alone… Charlin was cleared thanks to his 24 saves.
Big disappointment for Genève-Servette. The Eagles, who led by two lengths after the first twenty minutes, lost in extra time against Kloten (4-5 ap), at Les Vernets.
The GSHC dug its grave during a simply catastrophic second period: Derungs (26th, 3-2), Niku (33rd, 3-3) and Grégoire (39th, 3-4) in turn deceived the vigilance by Mayer and completely reversed the dynamics of a meeting until then perfectly mastered by the Garnets.
Author of his first goal of the season in the championship, veteran Arnaud Jacquemet (42nd, 4-4) however allowed his colors to save a point. Because the Germans forced the decision at the very start of extra time thanks to their top scorer Miro Aaltonen (61st, 4-5), author of the decisive goal while Marco Miranda had just served his penalty.
